It's NOT afraid and the words like  insecure  and  immature  all get used wrongly by those demanding men get with partners and be baby farmers so their notion of godly nuclear family that will follow doctrine and scripture blah, blah and basically think that to shame men into something that is unnecessary and costly is going to change the smart logical and rational thinking group of people who are aware they're the catch to bring more resources to others that they've now seen are better used on themselves. They don't NEED women and they choose themselves instead of giving to others.

Because the majority of women are generally only attracted to the men who are non-commital.

It would be the male equivalent of a guy who thinks he can find a wife in a whorehouse.

a lot of women never put this fact together. They repeat the same mistake over and over again never realizing she's the cause of her problems. Was, rinse, repeat till she too bitter to continue. Then she ends her dating life eventually just hating men. It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. But what ya gonna do.🤷‍♂️

Because we read books and they all say so. I know that it is not true, but the stereotype in the past is that we needed to get married to be complete; whereas, if a man got married then he lost his freedom. It is a double standard and perhaps a bit of overgeneralizing is going on here.

The ugly truth is... Sometimes a guy isn't afraid of commitment. He just doesn't want to make a commitment to you. Women have a hard time accepting that sort of rejection from a man. So they rationalize an explanation that absolves them of any role in the man's decision... "men are afraid of commitment". No, we're afraid of commitment to the wrong woman and wasting the best years of our lives. It's caution, not fear.

And it's not like this is a guy thing. Women struggle with the uncertainty and risk of making a commitment like marriage too. Runaway brides, annulments, divorce, or just a simple breakup.

It's a human thing not a gender thing.

men I’ve met, and I use the identification word “men” loosely for a good 95%. That I’ve met they’re not so much afraid as they’re irresponsible and immature. It’s the same as men thinking all women are so emotional they can’t be up front about their intentions. Most times when they’re talk about commitment it’s a steady one sided continuation of emotional entanglement just enough to hope they can get a consistent sexual partner. Which is stupid, bc when women do it, it becomes this big problem. Do I think personally men are commitment phobic, no because I’ve never seen a majority of people stay choosing chaos.

I suppose because a lot are, especially in this dating market. Obviously there are men who want commitment but they usually already have someone or are picky of who they will commit to.

I always assumed it was because there's a lot of overlap between very confident extraverted men and womanizers, who are both the most likely to approach women more often
