Why is it weird for couples to sleep in different beds?

I really don’t know. The happiest marriages I’ve seen have separate beds, yet somehow society frowns upon it? My sons dad & I were together for 4 years and we always had separate beds. He had a bad back so he needed a hard bed, but I needed a soft bed. He was a light sleeper and I snore. He runs really hot and I can’t sleep unless my bed is cold. So sleeping in the same bed together always gave us both terrible sleep and made us even more tired. When we separated, so many people were like “oh obviously the relationship was never good if you slept separately” like huh? What a weird and blatantly wrong assumption to make.

It's uncommon and many couple would feel unloved if their partner asked for it becuase many want to be close to the person they love.

Well some people feel rejected by it they can't really help their feeling, I'm pretty sure sleeping alone especially in summer is better but some people just don't like it

I do not think it is weird. If it helps them sleep or have some space go for it. Hopefully they find time to share some intimate time tougher however

Ohh. Its not weird but if things happen them my wife will sleep on the sofa. We only have 1 bed. Sometimes she comes home late from work and instead of waking me up she will sleep on sofa.

There shouldn't be a problem. It's not cause you're in separate beds, that you don't like your partner.

I don't think it's weird. Sometimes couples need space or maybe someone snores and they don't want to never get a good night's sleep again.
