Have you ever been on a date where you didn’t have to do anything?

Question

So I have been vibing with this guy I met at the lake for Mother’s Day and it’s been so refreshing. Conversation is there, he’s sweet, is so genuine, and above all respectful. We’be been on two dates and he FaceTimes me on his lunch during my babies naptime and after I put my daughter down for the night. We’ve been on two dates since…one was at a drive in and I didn’t have to pack/make a thing because he refused!!! he bbq for us and packed drinks/salads in an ice chest and turned the back of his trunk into a comfy set up.

The second date we did a morning kayak session at the lake after I dropped off my kiddo for her time with her dad and he met me at my house after I dropped her off so he could load my kayak and strap it to my roof rack (I wanted to take separate cars in case I had to leave early). It just feels so surreal how attentive and nurturing he is.

lol he said this didn’t count as a date but when he took my kayak out of my patio area he noticed my cement had a huge crack and he came and fixed it today so my baby or dog wouldn’t trip we went out for lunch while my daughter was at her visit🥹.

Wait a minute. Forget this guy. Let's jump straight to the important part. You went to a drive-in? As in a drive-in movie? Do any of those still exist? I thought they disappeared decades ago. Banished by the 16 screen Cineplex to the dustbin of history. A piece of Americana ripped out and torn to shreds. Millions of teenagers never to cop their first feel in the front seat of dad's Camry.

OK, now for the trivial stuff. Sounds like a nice guy who's trying really hard to be an upstanding man. Nice that there are a few left!

Kind of, when I was in the hospital. One of the physical therapists wanted to date me. She pushed me around in a wheel chair all over the floor talking and talking. It was flattering but I was hurt pretty bad from a car wreck. It was mentally exhausting.
