Lol. Actually I was seeing a guy once who would be a gentleman and give me the first few bites of a dish -- usually the best parts too -- before HOOVERING the rest of the dish up in ten seconds flat. It made me laugh bc as the older child in my family I never rushed with my food, but as the youngest of five boys he's always had to grab the food quick or lose the meal.

Eating politely shows respect for the people around you.

I have trouble believing that a grown adult does not know they have poor table manners OR how their awful table manners are repulsive to people around them. And, I bet that they've heard negative comments from the gitgo from a host of people who've known them.

It certainly sounds like they don't care, or think table manners are a useless vestige from the past, and they can behave like a pig at the table. Something's quite off about this and leaves me disturbed about this person's giant bad habit.

You might have a talk with them and explain how surprized you are at their table manners. You feel uncomfortable with them while eating. How can you go in public with someone like this? Sounds undoable.

No, manners are very important to me. I used to talk to this guy he’s a very wealthy guy and one day we were chilling at his mansion and got hungry, I ordered myself a pizza. He ordered a pizza with extra ingredients, garlic bread and 1L of lipton iced tea. The way he devoured all garlic bread and a whole pizza disgusted me so much and also the way he drank more than half iced tea straight from a huge bottle put me off so much. All I could feel was disgust. I eventually stopped talking to him but I didn’t have the courage to admit that they way he eats like a pig put me off out of fear of hurting his ego.

I have a VERY strong impression that table manners are inherited from, or correlated to some important traits I'm looking for. So, realistically speaking, the question might be... unbalanced, since it assumes that table manners could be cherry picked, isolated from other personality traits.
