i was slightly surprised she say she had a boyfriend and afterwards asked for my number.

Maybe a exit plan? She could have possibly wanted to get to know you but wasn't sure you would vibe well, saying she has a boyfriend gives her a quick and easy exit plan just in case your a weirdo or vibe wasn't there... maybe not.
