Not if that's not legal age in your state, as it isn't in some states. A parent could charge him with statutory rape.

On the other hand, why is a 27 year old having sex with a teen-ager in high school? There's a big life gap in that decade. You don't say they're having a relationship, you say they're "having sex," which is a completely different thing.

For him, it could be a nice fling, for her, she might be enamored and "in love." If she's of legal age in her state and her parents know about this, I guess it could be OK. If it were my daughter, nothing about this arrangement sounds savory or regular to me.

She's going to be far too young and life-inexperienced for a grown man with a job and the trappings of adulthood. Unless he's in it for sex alone.. I'd be suspicious.

Nah even in places like where I lived 16 was the age of consent.. but that age gap just seems weird asf. Most the time guys who do age gaps like this turn out to be full blown pedos and even molest their own children. Very big red flag on these type of people.

SHOULD he? Probably not. But in some states age of consent is 17 and age of consent is sex…. So even if a relationship is very questionable but it’s only romantic ehhh.

A lot depends on the power dynamic in place, which is defined by the circumstances of their meeting. In general though it’s probably not appropriate, not because of the age difference, but because of the maturity of the lower aged individual who is still in adolescence. So the short answer irrespective of any possible and obvious legal issues, is no.
