Don't you find it frustrating when someone doesn't get your sense of humour?

No, not at all. I have a really dry sarcastic sense of humor. It's not uncommon for me to drop a bomb and just keep moving on in conversation to the point half the people are snorting their drink out their nose and the other half are just staring with a blank expression at the rest.

I appreciate the ones with the blank stare self identifying. Those are the throwaways. The one's who can't keep up. The weaker animals in the herd. Fit for culling. I usually get the opposite, I'm not frustrated with them. They get pissed at me because I keep it coming fast and furious and they end up feeling lost.

I'm not doing it on purpose to embarrass them. The thoughts just fly out of my mouth in real time. I'm just having fun. Not my fault they have trouble connecting the dots.

Yes. Honestly, my best stuff often gets no response. And then when I just throw out something dumb, like something where as I’m saying it I start to feel a little embarrassed for picking such a low-hanging fruit, and I’m second guessing the joke but it’s too late, that’s when everyone cracks up🤦‍♂️😂

I think I have to dumb my humor down for people. But my smart humor is way more solid, despite what the people who require dumbing down might think😂 But that’s not really who you look to for accurate comedic evaluations, haha

Not really. Those who are close to me get my humour and find my jokes funny. Those who don't get my humour don't really know me, so they don't understand me. It's okay. I don't expect them to. 😅

No, I'm used to it and if I have to explain it to someone then I feel awkward, especially if it is someone that usually would get the joke but doesn't... I keep a poker face when telling jokes so people think I'm being super serious because I mostly only give true factual advice when asked a question but I deliver most jokes the same way but there is a little sarcasm in a lot of them too and that throws some people off too, even the intelligent people that do the same kind of humor.

I find text is even worse for it unless you have spectacular punctuation and the person you are texting has excellent umm reading/comprehension I think may be the right way to describe it.

Fortunately it never happens (anymore at least)

I found that if you deliver a joke or a funny reply well enough, even if the other person doesn’t get it right away they will smile while trying to figure it out

Kinda because if humor is signaled than it isn't in my opinion. I'm naturally inclined to ironic or sardonic and aspire to laconic despite never having achieved it yet.

I fail Poe's law in real life as well as on internet, so I am not surprised.

Actually I find it more funny when they don’t.
if someone doesn’t get the joke I say to them let me explain it in a way you can understand. And then I say the same joke but I speak really slowly that they are stupid lol

I do, but "today" the kind of humor that we have, some can't take it at all because they've been Indoctrinated! So with the "freedom of speech" gone, today our jokes seem "salty/taboo" for others...🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Nah. I know I can be subtle at times. What is funny is when others eavesdropping state cracking up and my target audience is there still looking lost. Which is funny on a different level.
