Is it normal that my boyfriend never really touches me? Should I be worried?

We’ve been together for a while but he rarely hugs, holds hands, or shows any physical affection. I don’t expect constant cuddles, but a little touch now and then would be nice. I’ve tried hinting, but nothing changes.

Is this just his way or a sign something’s wrong?

If this is a new thing all the sudden where he used to be more affectionate and now he’s not yes. If he was affectionate that you know of with his exes then yes it’s a concern. If not then maybe I would consider this a yellow flag meaning caution.

Some people have different love languages you could say. Some people show love and affection differently then others. There are some people who just genuinely don’t like being touchy feely even with their significant other. Does this mean you’re incompatible if this is the case? Maybe. I don’t know.

What it takes is communication you need to be direct with him about why he’s not really physically affectionate. The issue is that you’ve tried hinting this isn’t how adults communicate. A healthy relationship takes communication between one another.

You need to bring it up to him explain that you do want some affection and that you’ve tried to hint at it before. Then genuinely listen to him and hear what he has to say about it. If he gets too defensive that could be a issue if you’re too aggressive then that’s a issue. It should be a clam but serious discussion between one another.
