Do guys text when they have the flu?

I am really confused. I'm dating this guy since one month. It was always perfect and he was always the first one reaching out and asking for dates. Yesterday he did not write me so I wrote he said he had the flu and he will text me when he will be better. Today I had no text at all. Is this normal or is he not interested anymore? I mean even if you have the flu you're not dying and you still can text 🤷🏻‍♀️ if you really care about the person. I am very confused.

Depends how bad it is. Last time I had the flu I slept the entire time and had zero energy. I was engaged at the time and my fiancé was there, worried because I didn’t move or ask for anything over her so I can see how that can be for some with the flu. Just depends how hard it is hitting him and not so much if it is common for guys to text or not text. I have dated women who fell silent when ilm then pop back up when feeling better so I imagine it can go either way. Just depends how bad it is.

he said yesterday that he felt terrible not texting me and he will reach out when he gets better. But in my opinion a text just takes 2 seconds. I just don't get it.

I understand where you are coming from, but unless you have been VERY ill, you cannot fathom the amount of energy it takes one to even do that. I really could not move and could barely speak which in itself took a hell of a lot out of me to do. Just be patient with him. If he is as you feel, bullshitting you, then either way you will soon have your answer.

I don't get it. What is the point of texting, dating someone and being consistent for one month to then just disappear. He needs therapy for sure.

Unfortunately your experience has become more or less the norm in ‘dating’. That is a lot of therapy. It really isn’t worth dwelling on. The pisser is it will likely happen again.

You've never had the flu, have you? He feels like shit, he needs to hydrate and recover. The only thing you should be asking of him is proof of life so that you can send help if there isn't any, and then only a couple of times a day.

When I have bad colds, flu or even Hayfever it can cause a brain fog and can be overwhelmed easily by messages from a few sources it the point I just think "I can't be doing with texting at the moment"
