I'm fairly sure that a person agrees out of some level of desperation, either bc they give up trying to get that perfect relationship they've always wanted OR bc the person is their and they're having a needy moment.

but with my last ex-girlfriend... it kind of started in a more casual way

we met at a party-reunion and the approach was very casual and also based on looks and impressions, and we did start to hangout and click very quickly but we didn't rush to sex though... we didn't "hook up" like that either, so maybe not what you asked but this is the closest or the most casual... I've had so far, lol
