Why did my boyfriend break up with me after we had sex if he seemed to be so serious about the relationship before?

I met my boyfriend on bumble. So I was with my boyfriend and everything was going well and he even told me that he loved me. He was the one who asked to be official, and he told his parents about me first.

I don’t live in the same country as him but I will move there in 2 years, meanwhile I visit at least once every year for a few weeks at least. I told him I wanted a serious relationship from the start but that it would have the be long distance after I left in 3 weeks back for me home country. He was very serious about it and said he could definitely do long distance with me, and that he also wanted something serious.

He seemed really into me and serious about the relationship, but then we had sex. It was his first time.

He broke up with me over call a few days later. I asked him why but I feel like he wasn’t telling me the whole truth.

He said I deserved someone else, someone who would always be so excited to see me and hug me, and that he had this off feeling the days after we slept together but that I didn’t do anything wrong. He said he doesn’t want a relationship with anyone right now anymore. But I saw he updated photos on his bumble profile where I met him, so he must have reactivated it.

Can anyone tell me what the real reason (s) he broke up with me is/are?
