I think it depends on the couple and their situation, outlook on life. Some couples can a relationship with an age gap but from my own point of view, I would probably be conscious of a person age especially if they are at perceived different times of their lives re. settling down, children etc. While not an especially extreme example a 18/19 year old could be just leaving secondary level school and be looking for a party while a 23 year old might be past the beer and barf stage of their life. Like all things depends totally on the two individuals and their choices. In reality, there is no right or wrong answer to this question.

Age gaps are fine, but causal hook ups are terrible for your future partner prospects. You can't change the immoral decisions you make in life, and you can't expect people that haven't made those bad decisions to ever be interested in you for the rest of your life. That isn't just for women either. Men or women's past decisions matter.

Big deal. You are both of legal age and a 5 year gap is not a big deal. i dated an 18 year old when i was 22. I never really thought there was an age gap.

Not that weird. My wife and I are 8 years apart, a 5 year gap at that age isn't ridiculous, but I wouldn't expect him to be as mature as you're hoping at that age.
