A lotta women are made fun of for being single as they get older, as if no man wants them. As if they are desperate. But reality is... having through this experience myself. It is unlikely that she can't find any man who accepts her. It's more likely that she cannot find a man who fulfills her requirements. There are plenty of uneducated, broke, short, unattractive men out there who would accept any woman he comes across, this coupled along with men's desperate desire for sex. These guys are not hard to find. He will usually try to persuade her that money doesn't matter, success doesn't matter, looks don't matter, but that only her love for him matters. But to many women, it DOES matter.

I rather stay alone as a single woman than to marry and have kids with a man who I'm not attracted to, someone I do not respect, someone who is a terrible provider for our family, someone who does not work hard and doesn't have an education.

Men like to act as if single older women are desperately single, cannot find a man who wants them. We CHOSE to stay single instead of marrying a man we don't respect. We aren't desperate. If we were, we would've married any broke, ugly , short loser.

Over my lifetime experience, the lower your standards are, the more likely you are to be married.

I think the answer to questions like this come from nature. It's amazing how well these issues fit into that simple observation.

As far as nature is concerned a woman's value to the survival of the human species is to produce babies and take the primary role in raising them until they can survive on their own (whether that recognition is culturally popular or not at this moment in time).

But it goes a bit further. In order for those babies to survive and grow up the strongest they can be and develop the right survival skills of their own they also need someone to provide for and protect the mother and child until the children are old enough to survive on their own. That's where the male role comes in.

Men are biologically, physiologically and psychologically designed by nature and millions of years of evolution to provide and protect just like women are designed that way to have babies. Neither is designed or built to fulfill the other gender's role. Together, male with the roles they were built for and females with the roles they were built for create the family unit -- the strongest and most stable and important building block of the human species. And survival of the species is nature's number one priority for any species because without it nothing else would matter.

This explains just about everything related to this topic, including why, when a male or a female deviates from the roles nature and evolution designed and programmed them to fulfill, that it is frowned upon. When a man is gay, for example, why is there such universal repulsion to it across essentially all cultures throughout history. It is because he does not contribute to the procreation process. Nature makes people naturally repulsed by people like that because they make no contribution to the survival priority.

It's no different for a woman. If she fails to follow nature's design, and ends up having no children, or forming the family unit that is critical to the strength of the human herd, the rest of the herd finds it naturally repulsive and she is shunned.

These reactions by the rest of the herd discourage such kinds of behavior and that is good for the survival of the species, nature's number one priority.

I should add that there is a ton of evidence to support the fact that there are a LOT of 30-something single women out there who are sad and lonely and wish they were not single. The reality is that single men do tend to be more desperate in their 20s, and they get made fun of for it plenty (you have certainly done your share of that here).
