When does a man says "babe"?

Hi,

I meet occasional with a man. We are both single, but he has children under 18 and he cares about them. Sometimes he calls me “babe.” What does that mean? Does that mean he's starting to like me more—which I would welcome—or is it meaningless? The man cares about me and asks how I am doing. However, he is very busy and we do not see each other every week.

I respect that the man cares about his kids. That is the reason I never wanted a man with kids (under 18) - I struggled more than the last decade and wish I would have a man who wants and can be there for me and I can be there for him without having the kids topic 24/7. Just to build our lifes together. Not having arguing with ex-partners because of the kids and and and. My heart needs a home. A safe place and nothing more to fight for. I like peace and harmony. Thank you. He is a man who is active and strives forward. The question or desire must come from him. I have to awaken it but leave the initiative to him. I often write once at the weekend, but he rarely replies. I know that he is busy with his children. I don't push for an answer but give him time. He knows what he wants and that's why I have to awaken the longing in him. He usually asks and I answer whether I have time or not. On the days I ask at the weekend, he doesn't have time. It's easier for me to be spontaneously flexible. I always have work at home. Even when I'm waiting I'm not bored, I always have something to do. That's why I now wait when he's free.
