Dealing with a very affectionate girlfriend?

My girlfriend and I recently made it official. I like her a lot, but she calls me “gorgeous” a lot and is very physically affectionate.
It makes me cringe.

Sometimes with people like this it’s a good thing because naturally the excitement in a relationship eventually fades, but for people that are overly affectionate like her it will fade but you will always feel loved and cared for. I suggest you give it time and you will see. I suggests setting some alone time or time with your friends so you don’t feel suffocated. If you don’t like her saying gorgeous, you can tell her it makes you feel feminine because it seems like a feminine compliment and if she could use another form of compliment.

It sounds like you're possibly incompatible in that way. Personally I look for partners that are very affectionate, but some other people value different things.

It’s crazy because when I was with my ex, I wished she was just even a portion of how my current girlfriend is.

No, she’s beautiful and I’m very much attracted to her. I’m not sure what it is. I’ve never had this issue (then again my exes have all been a bit aloof).

Maybe you just feel a bit overwhelmed because you're not used to a partner coming on so strong, especially if you're not in the mood for it or something. When I think back to my marriage there were a few times when I was mad at my wife over something. She would climb on top of me and start kissing me. I wouldn't reciprocate because I wasn't in the mood. That's probably the only regrets I have about that relationship. I should've enjoyed all the attention no matter what. I hope you can find a way to just enjoy the affection from your partner, and don't end up with any regrets.

She’s being affectionate because she wants something from you. Once she receives that from you she’ll stop being affectionate

I love how people complain that their partner loves them too much and then if they end up single they’ll complain about how they want someone to love them and that they’re lonely. Can’t make anyone happy in today’s world
