How to simply start conversations with a girl who doesn't know me without getting nervous?

I think small talk is one of the hardest/most nerve wracking things. However, when I worked in retail, I found a lot of the social skills I learned there transferred over to dating. I would find something about that person I liked/shared an interest in, and not something they inherently have (like their hair colour or eye colour), like their style, you could then make a comment and start a conversation about that. If theyre wearing a band tee, talk about music. If you're at a dog park you could talk about their love for dogs. Something relatable. Thats the easiest way to go about it. If there isn't anything I would just be honest and cut to the chase and be like "Hey, I know this is awkward, but I dont know how else to go about this. I think you're really cute (or something along those lines), and I would like to take you out". The worse that can happen is she can say no, and you move on to find someone that would say yes.

So that means talking to a lot of girls. Hi is a good start. If you are in school or university you can ask about their studies. But keep it short initially and bland till it becomes more natural and you are getting engagement.

Sometimes you may get adverse reactions. Don't react adversely to that. The more you do it the easier it becomes.
