Girls, How to approach a women who doesn't know me?

21(M) here,

There's this girl from the 1st year of my college, she's 18 years old (I'm in my 4th year ). I find her kinda beautiful and cute. Also she looks simple because the way she dress is unattractive to most people, but I am scared to approach her.

We are having our end semester exams right now in different shifts (Her exam duration is from 10 am to 1pm and mine's 2pm to 5pm) and I usually see her after exams with her female friends. I need some tips and advice to approach her. I'm scared.

P. S. - She doesn't actually know me and I'm a complete stranger to her.

It's hard to give you any advice without knowing who she is, what she likes, etc. The best would be just to get to know her better using common friends or activities. Just approaching out of the blue could scare her or make her think you stalk her or something...

You can also just go and talk to her. If you like her, it's worth risking. In the worst-case scenario, it won't work.

I can share a story
During my studies (computer science, 4 females, 116 males), I was approached by a guy. I was sitting in the empty labour room finishing something, and he just came to me, using the fact that my "bodyguards" were somewhere else. He told me that I'm so vibrant (yeah... I'm a redhead, so no wonder :D ) he had to find an opportunity to talk to me. And if I let him stay in this room and just look as I work.
He was not intrusive. He explained everything and didn't push me. I told him I wanted to be alone, and he left without complaining. Next time, he asked me in the cantine if he could sit at our table. My friends were reluctant, but I already had a good experience, and this way, he included himself in my inner circle. I didn't date him or any other guy from my college. We are still friends.

The next time you see her say setting casual like 'hey, I see you around campus a lot. What's your name?'
Or if that's too forward, make some general small talk about the exams or how irritating college is. You have that in common, so it's a good groundwork for a chat
