I spoke to him before about this and every weekend this becoming the new thing. I couldn’t take it anymore as he is 33 years old its only common human decency to check in with someone who cares about you i thought something happened to him. Until he eventually text me at 10am i decided to ghost him cause clearly he’s taking our relationship for granted mind you i just flew out to see him 2 weeks ago bought him air pod max etc i just feel so disappointed more than anything.

He’s a grown ass man, he doesn’t need to check in. This is just you w your insecurity. You knew this ahead of time as he’s demonstrated it before. So either leave or stop complaining. I can’t stand when someone is apart from their partner like in this situation where they have to check in. My daughter recently went on a trip w me. It got so annoying w her girlfriend texting every minute of everyday to check in on her. Leave her alone, let her have fun. Sure she could have said I’ll text you later tonight when we turn in for the night. W my wife I send her our itinerary as to where we will be. Yes I do text her to update her on things but that’s cause I initiate it, not her. I know how women can be constantly texting. It gets annoying. You could have just told him text me tomorrow or something but more then likely you were constantly texting which to me was a tactic to keep him from enjoying himself.

I wasn’t texting him all night is the thing i told him to go have fun and stop acting like a old man. He usually tells me he made it home i was just concerned but i won’t come to the internet for advice anymore thank you once again!

Ok you just said yourself he stopped responding to your messages at 7:30 so that implies you sent multiple messages. So no you’re lying about you weren’t texting him all night. You weren’t texting him all night because he stopped responding. Guarantee if he kept responding you would have kept texting him. Stop lying. Not only that you said you talked to him about this before, so that’s on you. So yes I believe you were constantly bugging him. Tell the truth cause I guarantee his truth isn’t the same as yours. Sounds like you’re the one who was nagging him the whole time trying to keep him from having fun by constantly bothering him.

Again, this is the constant problem with LD relationships. You are not with the person day-to-day. And, frankly, they should not have to check in with you about the when and where they are and what they're doing as if they're teen-agers and you're the parent.

You are not physically present in their lives. Checking in a few times a week should be enough. This is the reality of not being there.

Expect far less from someone who's not living 15 or 20 minutes away and who you'll not see to date and hang out with on the regular. They have their friends and events to attend and be with because they aren't with you.

You have to be reasonable about LD relationships: they're limited, or find someone nearby to be with.
