I feel conflicted?

I’ve been dating this guy for a few months now and overall he’s honestly great. He’s funny, kind, emotionally mature all the stuff we say we want.
When we first started dating, I didn’t really notice he was balding. But over time I realized his centre is receding and there’s some thinning at the top. It wasn’t a big deal at first, but now he keeps bringing it up. He regularly says things like “It’s getting bigger and bigger,” referring to his bald spot or hairline. And now I can’t unsee it.

The more he brings it up, the more I find myself noticing it. And I kind of hate that it’s starting to affect how physically attracted I feel. I feel shallow even saying that, but I don’t know how to process it. I had that gut feeling when I looked at it last time.

Guys, how would you want your partner to handle this? Should I just stay quiet and focus on the good? Or is it valid for me to feel this way if the physical attraction is fading?

Also, why do guys point it out like that? Is it a joke? Insecurity? Fishing for reassurance? I’m not sure what to say when he does it, and it’s starting to feel awkward.

Would really appreciate honest thoughts.
