Guy I met online wants my address?

I met a guy on a dating app 5 years ago and we went on a date and then shortly we stopped talking. We stopped talking because he mentioned marriage and having 4 kids after our first date. I was in my early 20’s and not looking for that. Recently we started talking again and the possibly of getting married is something that I want now that I am older. I told him that I moved to another state. He said he would drive to me. I was delighted and started searching good restaurants to eat at and fun things to do for dates. Since he is a truck driver he said he was tired and didn’t want to to go on a date and just wanted to chill at my house. I refused to give him my address because I didn’t want him coming over late at night, I’m not ready to have sex and want to be properly courted. He got upset that I didn’t want to give him my address and canceled the date. Did I do the right thing? I didn’t feel comfortable giving him my address since we only met 1 time and I haven’t seen him in 5 years. Also he wanted to come to my house late at night.

He’s not serious enough and all the getting married banter is just love bombing because if he were actually serious he would respect your boundaries and not get mad. Just think about it, why would he get mad about a valid boundary you set? Major red flag! And honestly scary situation to be in. If he gets mad over not being able to sleep with you, does he not have self control? Omg and I don’t even want to add on to this but I’ve heard some scary things about truck drivers.

See, even though you’ve reconnected after 5 years n only met him once before, letting him come over late at night wouldn’t hv been safe or wise..

It’s completely okay to set boundaries n expect to be properly courted..

You made the right call. If he felt entitled to your personal information with so few interactions, what else would he have felt entitled towards?

A healthy person who was genuinely interested in you would have been perfectly fine with your response. A healthy person would have worked around your insecurities and agreed to a date somewhere more public. A healthy person understands the concept of earning trust.

A lot of murderers I have read about were truck drivers. That is why it took the law so long to identify them as a killer. You did the right thing and should not contact him again.
