I don't know if you’ve gotten a chance to ask him what his intentions are for talking to you. But assuming you have and that he also wants a relationship one day, then what you don’t want is to be too guarded. Nothings wrong with having a wall, I think we all put one up subconsciously to protect ourselves. However, you should really consider giving that wall a gate, otherwise nobody can get in.


Use your discernment when you’re trying to give a guy a chance, you know the difference between a guy trying to build a genuine connection vs saying whatever he’s gotta say to make you trust him, and that has to do with consistency. If this is some sorta ploy or the other shoe will eventually drop then he can’t keep this up forever, the the facade will fade. In this case, I’d like to think he wants you to open up because he is as well, but at the same time I recognize that this could be his way of expediting “getting close” for his own benefit. You’ve just gotta use your good judgement I suppose.
