It is a well known fact that men and women have drastically different communication. Men are direct, women use indirect means. A man says what is on his mind, a woman resorts to dropping hints or just saying the opposite of what she means/feels. There’s this meme about how women communicate ( “yes” means “no, “I’m fine” means “I’m angry”, etc.)

Guys often complain that they don’t like it when a woman uses indirect communication (“Does she expect me to read her mind?”). But I wonder if the shoe is ever on the other foot. Do women get upset at men for being direct? (“Why does he say what he feels?”

I cannot agree fully with your statement. I am pretty direct with people but men don't like when a woman is direct with them because it gives them the feeling that they are the equal of men, which a lot of guys dislike and disapprove.

To many men, a woman will never be the equal and will do everything in their power to make sure that women are treated as lower beings. Just look at the US elections in 2016.

63% of white men voted for the male candidate while 74% non whites voted for a female candidate. That shows that mostly white men will not tolerate a woman to be equal to them.

I do see men's faces and reactions when I am direct with them and tell them my point of view without hinting. They dislike it and let me know about it.

I grew up in a household with 5 brothers so I am fairly direct myself. It doesn't bother me at all.
