Any occupation that is an absolutely no go for dating for you? Public or private job? Travel requirements? Dangerous? Sex work? Religious leader?

Well this blew up! What about dating someone whose income is commission/sales? For me that's a HARD no!

[Summeroflove]

Obviously anything immoral such as sex work or anything that’s illegal like organized criminal activity. There are other professions that I would advise caution dating. Not because they’re all bad but because cheating is so prevalent.

Not all of these women are bad… these professions just more or less open the door to desires that people already have. Medical field such as nurses and doctors along with anyone else in the medical field. They’re around a lot of doctors who are male as well as male nurses who aren’t all gay many are former military. Some nurses are amazing partners. But remember… the profession comes with trauma.

Anything like military, law enforcement, and first responders. Again….. not all cheat. But it happens more then most people want to think. Use caution. Most first responders are great people and military. It’s just. A lot of cheating.

Women in high level business. Women who travel a lot as well as questionably climb the ladder and are too close with the creepy boss (bosses). Not all are bad. Just with a lot of traveling away and there is women who sleep their way into positions. There is women who genuinely work hard as well just use caution.

Stay at home moms and housewives…. Some loving wives and moms are. But if you want to sleep with a married woman. Go meet stay at home moms…. They will drop their panties at the drop of a hat. Being lonely and stuck in the house for so long. On top of…. Many times these relationships have a lot of problems. The man may feel like she’s lazy and doesn’t feel appreciated for working. The woman feels disrespected and not appreciated for the work she does in the home and with the kids.

[AviatorTom]

I dated women with all kinds of jobs: blue collar, white color, simple job, top level management, owning their own company.

I don't know of any occupation that would have prevented me from dating them.

[msmissydc]

No Church, military, politicians depending on party and probably no sex worker either. No job that requires long timeframes away, where I can't go with him. I am okeyish fine with travels for work as long as its not one uninterupted timeframe.
No lawyers if their firm takes big questionable companies and neither a leader of these companies.
Probably more when I really tnink about it but I can't think of more right now.

[msmissydc]

Depends on what kind of sales or comissions. Someone trying to sell luxury stuff to people that dont have more then enough money yeah that would be a problem for me.
I would not have a problem with commissions I think. My husband
Does work kinda on a commission base.

[DrPepper12]

I just couldn't

[Ez-Bri-Z_v2]

The only one that might be a hard no is a religious leader if they try and force me to follow their religion. Honestly that would hold true whether they are a leader or not. Same for politics. I don't think id want to date an athlete either. Their time commitments away from the family would be hard, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if they were faithful

[OneViewpoint]

Yeah, religious zealots are at the top of my list for a NO GO regarding a relationship. I couldn't even fake it for 5 minutes.

[ManOnFire]

OnlyFans or escorting.
Politics.
And certainly not a cop.

[DrPepper12]

Amen to the po po!! NEVER!!

[ManOnFire]

@DrPepper12 As for commission/sales, I could see why that would be a problem. They are pushy people, very competitive, and will do anything to make that dollar. So they are very close to having no conscience.

[Jersey2]

But you would call a cop in a heart beat if someone was after you or in your home. Got it.

[ManOnFire]

@Jersey2 Depending on a cop to do his job and wanting to date a cop are two different things. Same thing as the miserable women at check in desks at hospitals and walk-in clinics who hate people and don't like their jobs. I have to go through them first to get treatment, I have no choice, but I wouldn't date them.

[DrPepper12]

Yes. Cops are for crimes

[Staximus]

Any job where a woman is paid to lie. Or a prostitute or pornstar. Other than that I'm not too picky. I worked at a few bars and not sure if I would want to date a bartender or a stripper, because guys are constantly throwing themselves at those girls.

[DrPepper12]

And they come home with a SHITLOAD of untaxable income - gotta take the positive too!

[Staximus]

That's another thing, guys are constantly throwing money at them

[petitedollbabee]

Nothing related to religion. No police. No lawyers. No jobs that require disappearing to work on a boat or rig for 6 months per year. No highly requested medical jobs like surgeons etc.

[msc545]

Why no people with medical jobs? I have a medical job, and I'm not a monster.

[petitedollbabee]

@msc545 Medical jobs like surgeons, nurses, etc, are extremely demanding jobs and take up a lot of time. I need someone in my life who is present and around a lot for both me and my kids, not someone who is too busy for us.

[msc545]

I've noticed that my job is demanding. I like it.

[DrPepper12]

Seems reasonable to me!

[Luv2BRealExotic13]

I wouldn’t date a cop. Probably not a lawyer or government adjacent either just by how vindictive they can be and try to make someone’s life miserable if they’re narcissistic. Chef/cook self-centered and too whiny. Super gym bros/body builders are a hard ‘no’ as well. Generally if you’re my coworker or work in the same building as well I won’t date them.

[OneViewpoint]

I would advise anyone thinking about getting into a relationship with anyone in the military to sit down and have a really hard think about it first. There are some unique legitimate concerns about availability / separations, life expectancy, disabilities, and constant moves that most people never think about. It ain't for everyone.

[Zack-Bann]

Nothing remotely close to sex work

If she’s comfortable showing even superficial skin for money she loses my respect

I can still be friends with her if we get along

But my true partner would value her self esteem way more than any amount of money in the world

[DrPepper12]

Why would you presume that sex workers don't have self-esteem? They're quite confident & secure as a group.

[Unycorn]

Business administration

Or

Computer scientist / IT

[DrPepper12]

Interesting!! Y not?

[Unycorn]

Because of the character of those men. You need to be very special for those jobs. To me not social compatible

[slatyb]

I could be a religious leader, as not all religious leaders believe in God. A no go would be any occupation focused on killing or controlling others, like weapons development, covert surveillance, etc.

[exitseven]

Sex work and religious leader would be a hard pass. After a 3 year long distance relationship I made a 100 mile rule. I would not get involved with anyone who lived over 100 miles away

[LiamJHayden]

Politicians. Sex workers, if I knew about it. Police. District Attorney or any prosecutor.

[DrPepper12]

So others like lawyers or corrections are ok? Why das?

[LiamJHayden]

I've dated a few attorneys, but would be selective. Representing kids who were molested, yes. Representing big corps guilty (IMHO) of wrongdoing, no. Also, just hit upon the main ones.

[HighValue]

I wouldn't want to date someone that their work requires travel and days away from home or to be on call.

[msc545]

I don't really want to date blue-collar workers because I have nothing in common with women who do that sort of work. And I also don't want to date people that are in an occupation that doesn't require much or any education at all.

[exitseven]

@msc545 Jut because somebody works with their hands does not mean they are somehow not educated. Just because somebody has a bunch of college degrees does not mean that they are smart.

[msc545]

@exitseven I think that you and I have different definitions of the word "educated." You need a certain amount of intelligence to get through college, despite what you may think.

[exitseven]

@msc545 Colleges do not flunk anybody these days. Where i work they have "retention counselors". They send me emails if a student is in danger of not failing but dropping out. They hold onto paying customers with both hands,.

When I was in grad school if you got more than one "C" grade you were kicked out. I got a C in Discrete Mathematics the first semester I was there. I spent the rest of the time literally one exam away from getting kicked out. It is not like that anymore.

[msc545]

So is this some kind of problem that you're describing? Do you think failing people is a good idea?

[msc545]

Oops! I almost forgot that you actually relish making other people unhappy and miserable and you enjoy policing people so you can find things that they've done wrong so you can punish them. Has it ever occurred to you that those attitudes of yours actually really suck?

[Staximus]

Would you date a millionaire woman who was a business owner that was smart enough to become very successful with no education?

[msc545]

Maybe

[Staximus]

I know a guy with a PhD in philosophy and math who has the common sense of a chicken haha. Intelligence comes in different forms, and what intelligence one person has may not apply to all situations in life that they may encounter. Being an educational elitist and overlooking other people's intelligence solely based on their level of formal education is a rather myopic outlook in life

[msc545]

Actually no, no education is a deal-breaker.

[Staximus]

Think about it, dude. A very successful person with no education is probably a borderline genius

[msc545]

@Staximus Leave off the word "genius," and you are probably right. Even more reason to avoid the problem.

[blackeagle007]

I think it’s unfair to single someone out just because they don’t have a degree

[msc545]

@blackeagle007 it's not a question of singling someone out. It's a question of not wanting to interact with someone because I have nothing in common with them.

[blackeagle007]

I feel it’s because you think someone who’s blue collar is too low class for you

[msc545]

@blackeagle007 quite honestly, I don't care what you feel regarding this. I know what I think, and you don't.

[blackeagle007]

Sorry we are low class

[Nikki1989]

Anything remotely related to religion, the police force, politics, or the military.

[captain_voidwalker]

Lawyer is an instant no for me. Not only is it the most useless profession on the planet. But I can't in good conscious date someone who gets payed to fuck people out of thier money

[DrPepper12]

There's a LITTLE bit more to it than THAT! 😂 DOES it depend on the type of law?

[captain_voidwalker]

Nope, if the law has become so complicated it requires a lawyer that law has failed and needs to be re written

[Mike_Whocheese_Harry]

I'd never date an onlyfans chick or any other sex work

[Texaskid1]

Doctor.

They make good money but they work 60 hr weeks. No time nor energy for dating life.

[Guanfei]

Sex work. I refuse that my girlfriend is everyone's girlfriend too.
Dangerous would be an issue, but not a 100% no.
Religious leader is complicated as I'm an atheist.

[Anonymous]

Obviously - religious leader is a no from me.

[Anonymous]

you're a dim wit if you think profession will determine whether or not someone will cheat on you

[ZinniaRose3430]

No church, military , and most definitely no sex work.

[dragoblack]

Usually religious occupations are a red flag for me. Aside from that, im usually find with whatever as long as she has a mondern standard of dating.

[Jamie05rhs]

Anyone who works for a biotech or pharmaceutical company.

[beefcakebradybatson]

S*x work though I've nothing against s*x workers. Does that make me a hypocrite?

[Phoenix98]

Any sort of sex work is big no go for me.

[lightbulb27]

never thought about that...

[Simslover92]

Undertaker/Mortician

[Californiagirl5]

No cult leaders, no sex workers.

[guesswhereivebeen]

Wouldn’t date a cop…

[robocop666]

hooker
