Girls, are there any professions that you won’t date?

I’m a software engineer and I don’t really go on dates that often. My last date was in November of last year. Over the past 5 years, I’ve heard numerous women say they don’t want to date software engineers. They say it’s boring and most guys want to do that.

In 2019, I went to dinner with some women from my church and they complained about me and the number of other software engineers in the church. They asked how come we couldn’t pursue professions like an art historian or social worker. Those jobs only make like $40k a year. I used to get so frustrated with them because why would they want a guy who can’t provide long term.

Then 2 weeks ago, I went to a speed dating event and by the time I get to the 4th woman, she’s already complaining about the number of software engineers she’s talked to. From there on, every woman complained.

Now I’m realizing that my field isn’t exciting and I’m not all that passionate about it. I’m considering a career change to become a pilot. I’ve already had my first flight which was a success, but now I’m on the waitlist for more lessons. I believe being a pilot is more exciting than being a software engineer. What do you ladies think?

I won’t date a litigation lawyer cause they will have to lie when their defendant or plaintiff is guilty or when their client is making up fake accusations against another. I’m also hesitant about dating music DJs cause a lot of them party or get involved in the drug scene and I won’t date an accountant cause they have immense psychological pressure every time tax season rolls around. I won’t date a police officer cause most are paid highly with little education, making them prone to anger outbursts or abusive behaviour at home and I won’t date a brain surgeon cause there is a high risk of abuse or cheating or divorce.

If he's a workaholic OR works on call OR does shifts anytime between 9 at night til like 4 in the morning, then I would lose interest in him. So like police, military, doctors, lawyers, gamers, pilots, late night warehouse associates, truck drivers, and most professional athletes are some of the few I wouldn’t care to date. I’m debating when it comes to firefighters, construction workers and baseball players thought because they’re just so fckin hot i might let it slide. Engineers dont appear to be a problem as long as they are not still in school. Those in school dont seem to know how to balance work/life

Nope. I would date someone no matter what they did. Even if some think that is a boring profession it doesn't mean the person is a boring person. That means that as long as I like and get along with the person I don't care what he or she does for a living. If we have fun together then I am good with whatever you do for money so long as it is legal. I can't think of a particular profession that would make me say no way. I would be good to go to date if we were a good match.

Drug dealer, pharma guys, finance guy, banker, pornographer, bar owner or anyone that sells alcohol or cigarettes. Truck driver. Ambiguous import export guy. Taxi driver. Any man that works closely with women.
