Do guys want to stay with their first girlfriend long term/permanently?

i’m my boyfriend’s first girlfriend, though he’s my 2nd boyfriend. (i haven’t done anything with the ex). the reason my ex left me was because he wanted to “explore his options” and “not be chained down” so went to explore that i guess. some guys i know haven’t gotten over their first girlfriend. my boyfriend said he doesn’t ever want to leave me, so i’m just wondering how do guys think about this kind of stuff, does it vary based on the guy’s perspective or the girl he’s with?

I tried the hardest to make my first relationship last and was honestly too much of a simp in the relationship. I learned to respect myself and not be a simp after that.

Yes, we generally want a fairy tale ending where we find our high school love to live happily ever after, but the maturity of girls around that age is extremely low and most of them prefer to "experience life" before settling down nowadays. So it usually doesn't end up working out.

I liked her a lot but I was like 18 and she was 19 and divorced with an one-year-old. I wasn't ready for that. She taught me to kiss and I still miss her.

If you are his first he probably does not want to loose you. As both of you change and move on with life and maybe college things may change for him. For now just enjoy ur time together and have some fun.
