My friends son is in Philippines for 9 mos now with his girlfriend. And his father said he won't commit like he's scared of commitment because he knows him. She not his second Asian eithet he dated Thai, Chinese and another Filipina. And his son is complaining how hot it is in Philippines. So my friend said his son is coming back to USA in December. I thought its weird because his son is basically living with his girlfriend in same roof for like 9 mos and suddenly coming back to USA without asking to marry her. I asked him asked his son the reason if he come back. Im not sure if they already had sex but since they were living in same roof maybe they already did. by the way his son doesn't have a job either and only rely on US government assistance.
Do you think he will marry her? Or change his mind again?

9 months is a fairly short time within to decide to marry so I am not surprised he hasn't.

Aside from their undoubted charms the good thing with Asia is you have much reasonable marriage laws. Bringing an Asian back to say the US would the last thing he should do.

Ideally you develop a career where you can work remotely, get paid at western rates and live an Asian country with cute Asian girls and a low cost of living. Perfect.

Marrying a foreigner is a dilemma. While the women of those countries are attractive and the divorce laws of other countries are better than most U. S. states, the problems your friend's son is legit. If he marries her, he can choose to live in an uncomfortable climate but have the safety of Philippines divorce law, or bring her back to the U. S. and live in a more comfortable climate but be at the mercy of U. S. divorce laws. It is a conundrum. Sounds like he gave it a shot with her and just figured she wasn't worth the risk.

1. They don't need an attorney if they can read and understand what forms to fill out and file. It isn't too complicated.

2. It seems like he is just using her. How is he living over seas with no income? It is fine for both people to work and contribute, but if one has no income, they may be using the other for a free ride. Why did he date 3 other Asian women before her and not end up with them?
