Why do I ignore people when I like them?

When I like someone I will start to ignore them and pretend they don’t exist

Fear. Fear of being rejected so you’re rejecting them before they can reject you. If you want someone…. And show zero attention. Chances are you aren’t going to get those people.

Also things like fear of making things awkward. It’s okay for things to be a little awkward at first. But ignoring someone or even being flat out rude…. Will probably make someone (who makes healthy attachments) not be interested anymore. Now maybe someone whose obsessive and mentally ill.

Because you are afraid they won't like you back. You will ruin your life doing that. Seek professional counseling. Been there, done that.

Are you afraid of rejection or that it might actually work? If you’re always doing this you should seek help to overcome it
