Well I don’t ask many people out and when I do I usually know they are interested it’s usually easy for me to tell when someone is or isn’t. But have I been told no? Sure.

I’ve been asked out a number of times. I hate rejecting someone… But if they aren’t my type or it’s not someone I really know.

The last time I was rejected was around 1996. That's the last time I asked someone out. After that came decades of a much more comfortable situation, where relationships were formed naturally instead of being formed on demand.

I have never been formally asked out, but indirectly, once or twice, in my youth.

It is pretty heavily gender based. If you're top 5-10% attractive male you'll have so many options you need never ask. If you're not well you'll just have to ask girls out.

If you're a fat women past her prime like Nikki1989 in the comments you'll still get asked out once a week. Just zoom the picture in and no one can tell. Its a crazy world.
