Is being on medical guardianship a turn off?

I have to be on medical guardianship due to my autism. I am very high functioning but the phycologist said I qualify for it. Which means I am not allowed to go off birth control until my mom thinks I am ready to have kids. No guy would want to deal with that? I am still living with my parents. This isn’t right to me! Some people have kids when they aren’t ready but I can’t have kids just yet because of the medical guardianship. What do you think? I am going to be 30 this year.

I am not trolling. I really want some help in this and don’t be rude of your answers. I really would want some helpful opinions. Because I am bothered by this. I won’t ask any more questions on this after this.

Not necessarily, its not the status I give anything about. I don't mind autism since I tend to get along great with autistic people. I do mind how compatible we are and if your emotionally mature enough to have a relationship with me. So if in the end I judge that they are probably right and your just not ready to be a functioning adult then that's not going to be appealing. If I think its overblown though i'd see what the possibilities are and if we can get you off of that. I know the system is massively abused so it doesn't scare me.

It wouldn't be a turn off unless your parents are too controlling to a point you couldn't make any decisions with your life... like sleepovers at a boyfriend's house or trips overnight together... or moving in with a boyfriend.

I feel like you’re getting too far ahead of yourself, the focus shouldn’t be on be on gaining your independence in full. That means moving out of your parents house, showing them that you’re an adult and don’t need them to take care of you and you don’t need guardianship. Talking about motherhood under these circumstances just doesn’t sound like the best move, you aren’t even in a relationship yet.

It depends on the person there are people out there willing to take you. Either who also are in the same situation maybe not.

Just be aware….. there are weirdos that want someone they can take advantage of.

Have an honest talk with your mom and your doctor and prove to them that you are ready. Do not rush things however. Kids can be a life changing event and a lot of work

Just be honest.. let them know that u are not perfect... none of us are. Tell them you will ask for help when it is needed. See if there is a support group with people in the same situation. Stand up for yourself!
