Have you ever been on a blind date and if so, how did it go?

Freshman year in college I had a friend who was a commuter and he lived in the city. He and his girlfriend said that they knew somebody that they wanted me to meet. So on Friday night they picked me up at my dorm and we drove to a restaurant where she was going to meet us. She was already there and she was nice looking. I thought maybe this would be a good thing. While were were talking I told her that I was in Air Force ROTC and wanted to be a pilot. She was sort of a hippie and she thought that I wanted to bomb women and children. Things just went downhill from there.

My friend thought it would be funny if he and his girlfriend left the two of us there. So they left. It took a while before we realized what had happened. She told me that she was leaving. I asked her if she would give me a ride back to my dorm. It would have been a 6 mile walk in the freezing cold and I was just wearing a jacket. She said no.

So as she was driving away I jumped on the hood of her car and grabbed onto the hood. She tried to shake me off and drove through the parking lot a few times but I had a good grip on the hood. Finally she stopped and let me in the car. We had a quiet ride back to my dorm. When we got there I thanked her for the ride. I did not ask for a second date.

I've only had one blind date. It was fantastic. My older sister set it up. My date was the sister of one of my sister's work colleagues.

The date was simple. We had pizza and beer at a local Italian joint. We talked and realized we had a lot in common. The restaurant actually made us leave since we stayed too long. We ended up back at her place, making out. It was the beginning of a very nice summer fling for the two of us. It didn't last but it sure was fun while it did.

Though this happened decades ago, I still have find memories of her.

Just once. It didn't go well at all, really. Nothing bad happened but, we just didn't hit it off. We started talking to each other online and everything sounded great! We set up a date and then, the night before, I asked for a picture because I had no idea what she looked liked! She sent me one and WOW was that scary!! She looked like a big bruiser of a truck driver with very short hair and was a bit overweight and short and a rather sardonic smile!! Well, I committed to the date so, we went through with it. We went to a park and took a leisurely walk and chatted for nearly an hour then we went to get pizza and had a nice meal, then I asked her if she'd like to go shoot pool with me. She didn't know how but, we drove there, anyway and she tried. After about an hour, she said she had to get home and wash some clothes so, she took me home and we said we'd try again but never spoke to each other ever again!
In a way, I'm kind of on a blind date right now. I've been in love with someone for over a year and still don't know what she looks like. We get on great together and are both committed to each other but, it WOULD be nice to see who I'm in love with. I have NO intention of breaking up with her so, it shouldn't matter to her if I see what she looks like.

I stood her up to go to the dance with my good friend Megan. Then she left me to dance with my good friend Bryan. They were both tall and nerdy and I was short and a Jock. Good for them. It made more sense and I left the dance to get drunk with sluts.
