I mentioned my friend wants to set me up with her ex, but we just decided to be friends ourselves and I think it’d be awkward to date someone she used to date— that’s if it goes well & if it goes bad it’ll be worse 😂

Yea yes thus is a rather frivolous problem I know, but it’s still something I’m not sure about 🤷🏻‍♀️

Freshman year in college I had a friend who was a commuter who lived nearby. He and his girlfriend said that they had somebody they wanted me to meet. So one night they picked me up at my dorm and we drove to a restaurant in town and this girl was supposed to meet us there. She showed up and she was okay looking. I tried to talk to her but she just did not like me and I really did not like her much either. My friend thought it would be funny if he and his girlfriend left me there alone with her. So they took off on me. when this girl found out she said she was leaving too. I asked her if she would give me a ride back to my dorm. she said no. It was a five mile walk in the freezing cold. So I followed her outside and when she was driving away I jumped on the hood of her car and told her I wanted a fide home. She tried to shake me off but I had a good grip in the hood. Finally she stopped and let me in the car. She gave me a really quiet ride back to my dorm.

If your friend knows you both and thinks you might get along, why not find out by going on a date? That's what a date is for.

I wouldn't even think about the fact that the guy is your new friend's ex. It's irrelevant. They're no longer a couple, for whatever reason, but she thinks the guy is nice enough to introduce to you.

If you don't get along, no problem.
If you hit it off, FANTASTIC! And I can't imagine it bothering your girl friend. You can remain friends.

In my teens, I had two different ex girlfriends who wound up in relationships with very good friends of mine. One of those couples wound up married and had kids. It didn't bother me at all. All of us, including my ex girlfriends, remained very good friends.

I'm still in touch with my very first girlfriend. She's the one who married my friend. She's really good people. And she's a grandma now. LOL

I have been on many but not with complete strangers.

It is always with a friend of a friend that was highly recommended for me as someone that they thought would have characteristics that would match what I like, especially in certain areas, thus most of the time they turned out well.

Since your friend knows him intimately, ask her if she thinks he is a match for you and take it from there.

My first date lol. We were not a match. But hey, I was young and didn't know any better. I'm certain I was too boring for her (hey it was my first date)🤣. But she kept "seeing" people she knew so she kept excusing herself to go talk to them. She probably spent more time with them then with me. I can't blame her for that, but she probably should have just ended the date.

Yes, it went very well. When I was young and single, my sister set up a blind date with the sister of a guy she knew. The date involved dinner at a pizza place. We CDC ended up back at her place, making out. It was my first experience with cunnilingus, she tasted so sweet. We continued to date for a few months, but it was really a summer fling, and it ended when she decided to marry the guy she had been dating.

Yes, i’ve been on a blind date; two, in fact. Neither of them went well. They went so badly that i committed to never agreeing to another blind date in my lifetime. I also questioned my “friends” who set me up. Clearly they either knew nothing about me, or they thought very little of me. I don’t associate with any of them anymore.

I've been on dates with people I only met online, but as far as being set up by someone, no. Some girls I worked with tried to set me up with their friend at a party but I was happily drinking and didn't even notice.
