I'm a skinny guy but I still love her and think she's beautiful.

I have a pretty wide, no pun intended, range of body shapes I find attractive. If I'm looking for a partner, a narrower range is desirable but not essential. If she changes after I love her than it's not likely to change my love quickly, but...

- by and large, weight is something you can control... yes people have medical issues but that's a tiny, tiny share... so it is a marker pointing at other issues to support her manage which might be self-control, lack of physical activity, depression, or whatever.

- if it has functional impacts... inability to go walking, hiking, swimming, normal household activities, sex, etc then that is an issue that is completely separate from aesthetics

- I don't want to be around obese women. BMI is a pretty woeful measure of health, but for a woman with normal musculature and normal height, a BMI over 30 for a sustained period would cause me to stop loving them eventually. That is my choice. I'm not going to defend it. It's my choice. This has happened to me once.

I'm not ideal right now with a BMI of 27, albeit I lift. But I take 100% responsibility for being a little unhealthy.

Yes of course that is normal. Everyone has their own turn on's and turn off's and those are highly personal. If you don't mind her being overweight or if that is your type its only logical you still love her. And if it is off-putting the love can outshine that.

Not unusual. I had a skinny friend who seemed to always date large women, and I don't mean WNBA players.

Funny, he wound up marrying a chubby girl who has since lost a lot of weight, and he is no longer skinny.
