Should I date someone who had to convince himself that he is interested, or only date men who immediately know they are?

It depends on what exactly he needed to convince himself about.

Like if it took him a while to decide that you're BARELY up to his standards, and he'll give you a try since there are no other options for now, you should probably not date him.

But if he was, for example, recovering from a bad breakup, or the end of a long relationship, or some other stressful event, and he had to decide if he was READY for another relationship, that might not be so bad. At least, it would show that he takes relationships seriously, and doesn't just see you as a possible source of fun.

So find out what his issue was, if you can, and make your decision based on that.

Dating someone IS getting to know them and measuring compatability , to expect any half of the couple to know INSTANTLY is ridiculous.


Granted you may need someone not to mess you around going through the motions when they are not In it but neither of those suggest scenarios are normal or expected in my opinion


Clearly it’s up to each of us to attempt to set boundaries but good luck with either of those , it’s misery either way.

Had to? So he is not really interested. I would say, choose a man thats sure of what he wants. If he is as reckless as to try to convince himself into choosing a possible life long partner, then he is probably convincing himself to like you, live with you, have kids with you, sleep with you. Now thats lot of convincing lol

Or he might just want to have a good time.
