How would you describe your ideal situationship?

One where we're great friends first. We care for one another, would do anything for each other. The communication is top notch and then the sex is great. There's no confusion on either side and it's clear what the relationship is which is pretty much not a relationship at all but a friendship with great sex.

A marriage with a shared room, possible children, possible pets, maybe investing in real estate or corporate half way housing to provide quality living that is missing from other companies.

I want someone I can connect with. I don’t necessarily agree with “be friends with someone first” because what can happen is that not making and even so far as rejecting romantic advances can kill attraction and make someone move on. Especially if you make them feel friendzoned. Or maybe you are friendzoned and you wasted your time to be rejected in the end.

I do want someone who at some point will become my best friend once that bond and connection is made. I want someone whose compatible with me believes similarly the way I do and wants the same things out of a long term or lifelong relationship as I want. I don’t fall easily ….. but when I do I fall hard. I’m loyal. I want a companion. Not just someone to have sex with or whatever.

Honestly, I don’t think an ideal situationship lasts.

If there’s consistency, care, and emotional safety, it usually deserves clarity. If there isn’t, it tends to drain more than it gives.

The closest thing to “ideal” would be something light but respectful, clear boundaries, no mixed signals, and mutual effort. Anything less usually turns into confusion.
