Why do people think that just because a person is and wants to be single, means they’re sleeping around?

Because many, perhaps most people believe that everyone else thinks like they do, and wants the same things they do. This is why religious believers insist that atheists also believe in God but just want to sin. People who can't be happy alone assume that no one else can be, so they assume that if someone is willingly single it's because they don't want to commit. Ignore the haters.

Do they say that about you? Maybe it’s because you’re really attractive that they assume you have to be with some guys whether you’re in and out of a relationship. You have to tell them you like doing your own thing and focusing on yourself and set the record straight

I think it’s a combination of them being sexually attractive as well as conservative values to where they think they have to be with a girl and think they have to be doing things with a guy. These people probably don’t realize women have agency so they usually need to spell it out for the judgy ones
