What are the signs that someone is truly happy?

Everyone’s definition of what it means to be happy or truly happy is NOT the same , so I don’t know what your asking when you say “ truly “ , nor do we all always express or perceive any happiness in the same way.
Furthermore even those with the happiest of lives still have bad days , weeks etc


I consider myself a decent judge of people and after spending some time with them i can generally perceive if they are actually happy rather than trying to promote an image of themselves.


I look for calm , a person who handles every day life in their stride confidently , and is comfortable doing nothing special as well as being in the mix and buzz. I look for those that keep themselves fairly busy with hobbies or creativity or supporting others , things that usually go hand in hand with a stable happy person.
Those that brag or complain , those can be red flags depending on frequency , the more they do either the more I think of weakness.
Finally I look for stability , friendships , relationships , even work.


By no means a perfect science but can be a good guide.

True happiness is often not loud or ostentatious. It's quite the opposite. You can tell when someone is content and happy with themselves and their life because they often carry themselves in a way that is not flashy or showy where they are seeking validation from others but have a confidence about them that speaks quietly. You can just feel it when that person is genuinely happy. They are usually very present, celebrate others' successes and find pleasure in the simple things in life.

I honestly am getting to that point where I no longer am seeking validation from others but within myself. I don't feel the need to show how happy I am. I just am and that's saying a lot because I wasn't nowhere near saying that earlier this week. But I've truly reached enlightenment within myself and even though I know there are still going to be some dark days ahead, I'm happy with my life, my friends, and family and even with my job (well most days lol).

It shows up in their behaviour and energy. Real happiness is usually quiet, steady, and lived rather than performed.
