Imagine wearing your favorite, beat-up hoodie. It's not exactly high fashion, but it's comfy, it's familiar, and it's yours. It's that no-frills, cozy feeling of being with someone where you can be your unfiltered self, quirks and all, and they still dig you.
Now, think about those heart-to-hearts at 2 AM, the ones where you talk about everything from aliens to what you want out of life. If you can do that, sharing the big dreams and the scary thoughts, without worrying about being laughed at or dismissed, you're onto something pretty special. It's about having that someone who gets you, really gets you.
And then there's the whole "us against the world" vibe. Knowing you've got someone who'll ride it with you, hands in the air, screaming alongside you, or holding your hand when it gets a bit too scary, that's golden. It's about feeling like no matter what happens, you two can take it on and come out the other side, together.
Being truly happy means being with someone who cheers you on as you chase your goals, even if it means spending time apart to chase those dreams. It's like you're both sculpting each other into the best versions of yourselves, piece by piece.
And let's not forget laughing till your stomach hurts. Whether it's at a stupid meme, a dumb movie, or those weird little moments life throws at you. If you can find the humor together, share those belly laughs, and just be silly with each other, you've found a pretty sweet spot.
So, in a nutshell, if your relationship feels like that comfy hoodie, filled with late-night talks, mutual support through life's craziness, personal growth, and a whole lot of laughter, then you're probably doing alright in the happiness department. If you've got that, well, sounds like you're onto something wonderful.

There's always ups and downs. To me the most important factor is if you can imagine yourself doing it long term. The effort you have to put in the things you put up with the strain it puts on your life if you look at those things and you still easily think I want to do this for years to come then you must be in a happy relationship. But if the problems start becoming the focus and you can't even think about the future much anymore because you're so preoccupied. And when you do take time to think about it, you have a difficult time imagining how you're even going to get there. Every day is too much of a challenge. Then it means things need to change.

Technically being always happy in a relationship doesn't exist, they have to go through the hard times together too, when you find someone that you click with that you can always work things together with, that's when you know you found the one
If someone is happy in their relationship, they might feel a sense of contentment when they are with their partner.
Happy partners check in on their partner, share the small and big details of their days, do random gestures of love - gifts, kisses, hugs, initiate sex, remember important dates, etc.
you don't even have to question it... you just are
If they don't have to ask strangers on the internet if it's happy, it is. If they do, something is missing and they want strangers on the internet to find it
You don't. You never know for certain with a woman whether she's happy or it's all just an act.
