Why would a guy ask for my number, say he’ll call, then just text instead?

It's not that something came up and he wasn't able to call, he decided to message you instead. What makes a guy do that?

What makes ANYONE do that unless they're doing something else and they can't speak out loud. Sigh.

I LIKE hearing a voice. You can evaluate nuance and feeling when speaking with someone. So much is lost when you aren't talking. I also think people text when they don't have the time and energy for a conversation. And my point is, MAKE the time if it's important enough to you.

But people are odd and different. Text him that you'd like an actual phone call because it's far more fun than tired old texts.. or some kind of light joke like that. Good luck.

What was sad about him not calling after he said that he was going to, is that I was so jazzed that we were going to finally hear each other's voices and the sounds of our laughter.
After waiting for 2 hours and my phone didn't ring, what was a happy mood I had been in turned into a bad disappointment instead.😞

I don't know men who like phone calls. They exist but are rare. Ofbhe text maybe hebis unsecure and shy. When he text he has more time to think about an answer or what to ask next. It is important that you have a good communication. Don't care about the way. And you both are ok with this way. Maybe after getting to know closer he talks and talks and you have to stopp him ;)?

Maybe his not very confident or shy, texting is might be his way of showing he is interested because he doesn’t want to say anything to put you off. And by texting he has time to talk to you without putting his foot in his mouth and stuff things up. Give him a little bit of time and maybe ask him to call tell him you want to hear his voice

Some people, like me, prefer texting over calling. Calling someone is a disruptive action, forcing the receiver to stop whatever they are doing and answer the call. A text, on the other hand, doesn't do that. The receiver has the option to immediately read the text and reply to it, or wait until later to do that. Their choice.

Because today’s society is all about texting instead of actual phone calls , plus by him texting you first , gives you time to decide when you feel like talking to him, so he isn’t putting you on the spot.
