I'm very successful at being single, so I can't be successful at dating too 🤣

When I lived at home with my parents I had more time to date but I don't think I was successful, though I was in full time employment, and studied in the evenings for higher qualifications.

I decided I needed to find my own way in life, though I had hoped to find my partner first.

Unfortunately this wasn't to be and I started to live by myself.

At first I went to all the right places, and I made myself available, but now it seemed my attempts at dating was completely hopeless, females were not interested.

I was neglecting my career and other areas of my life in the pursuit of a partner, and I needed to stop wasting my time and energy, and put it to a better use.

I've more time available now with my career sorted, and I do go out with my cycling friends including some female cyclists, and I can't say my dating is non existent, because I've been taking out a young female neighbour, showing her the City and the Countryside, and playing sport together too.

But amazingly she lost interest in me, so maybe I'm unsuccessful dating, but very happy and successful being single 😂

I have been married a long time. I imagine I had a pretty average record with dating. I had a few wins and a lot of losses.

Finding people is just the beginning. Doesn't say anything about how those dates go and even less if you actually find a long term partner (if that's what we talk about, again different people look for different things). So no it's not as simple as you make it out to be.

I have no problem finding dates and I generally enjoy the dating process. But I haven't found someone who makes me stop looking. By your definition I'm successful. Other people might see it differently 🤷‍♀️

Exactly you are successful in dating as I would have imagined your answer would be. Instead you opted to complicate the matter. Whatever comes out from the date is not part of my question. If you can find people who would want to come and do come on a date with you is my question. It is simple. Not complicated.
The fact that you have not found someone that makes you stop looking has nothing to do with my question. Nothing.

People don't know what you mean if you don't specify it. Finding people to date is maybe an issue for guys but taking that as criteria for most women is silly. You think it's obvious because you don't see that different people struggle with different things when dating. I asked a simple question for clarification, I really don't see the issue with my comment.

You are right I need to be very much more specific in the future because it is amazing how what I think is a simple question turns out to be ambiguous. I guess to be clear I had to include the word find in my question. Do you find it easy to find dates? Of course I don't need to ask you, and I am sure the question is clear now.

No no it is fine. I am not holding it against you. I understand that my question could have been understood a bit differently than what I intended it to be. It is just that I need to be more precise in the future. Or I just ask casually without too much stress and than clarify if needs be. :)
