How much effort do you put into dating & what was the outcome?

So I pretty much exclusively find dates online because everybody I asked irl said they were already taken 😅

I like to think I put in a damn good amount of effort. Like before I actually ask them out I always talk quite a bit, and find out stuff they like to do and plan a date around those things.

Like this one time I learned that she loved painting, nature walks, and pizza (specifically pepperoni and onion pizza). So, I planned a nature walk date and was going to bring those little lunchable pizzas and a fresh onion (thought it'd be more funny than actually enjoyable), along with my acrylic painting pack and some pieces of canvas. Well, turns out she ghosted me the day before our date, so I was stuck with the lunchables and onion 😅

That's one example, but there are about 4 or 5 more similar occasions of me putting in a decent amount of effort and not getting a whole lot back

Dating for me depends on pure luck, i don't do effort and i have a lot of options, some people are doing their best but they get nothing, dating is not easy but you have to build yourself and your character, no one will date an empty person, and don't tell me it's about how much you're pretty/handsome, i have seen a lot of guys and girls who are not pretty/ handsome and they're enjoying being in a relationship, so don't lose hope you will find someone who deserves you.

I haven't really dated, dated a guy in collage (high school) and had a relationship with him for 3 years (broke up 4 years ago?)
Other than that I have never gone on a date to find a potential date as I thought it was too much effort...

Instead I made out with my best friend when he and I were hanging out one night and being mopey that there is no one that cares about us and loves us, between me monologing for an hour and a half about the ship in a cartoon I was watching.

We have been together almost 3 years nnow and are very happy...

there shouldn't be no effort, making an effort could mean that you are pretending to be something your not,
dating should be, fun to talk with. fun to laugh with, fun and pleasure kissing and holding hands, fun to have sex, and important, fun to still be there together after sex

On multiple dating apps, attended meetup groups to expand my social circle and meet new people and been to singles mixer events and I get nothing at all, but no-one I know will tell me what's wrong with me so I can fix it while I still have time.
