Most likely that those guys that do date overweight girls are the only ones that are intelligent and see other assets in that person than simply her looks. They are not as superficial as 99% of other men that simply go for the looks.

A girl can be overweight and have an IQ of 140, be a genius, have a great character and fantastic personality. Those are much more important assets than Botox injected lips or body parts and enhanced breasts.

Those guys don't go for the nitty gritty but for the important assets of a human being. As simple as that.
