Well she could but it’s not good to wait on someone to ask you out. Many people are nervous and as scared of rejection if not more then you are. As intimidated as you are assuming that height (since you mentioned) is making you nervous. She may feel insecure too because there are dudes that won’t date taller women.

Just ask her out. If she says no you’re not wasting your time on it and can move on as well as have closure. If she says yes. You won’t wait too long until she moves on

Most women don't feel compelled to go ask a guy out at all, some outdated nonsense about which gender is supposed to do what. There's a minority of willing to do that but it does mean your chances are under 50%. Then there is whether she cares about height or not. I am not even close to 6 feet so I can't pretend to speak for her but odds are, even if height isn't super important, that may be a gap that's too much to overlook, a taller person would need to give their perspective on that though. I'd say realistically, you're going to have to be the one who goes out on a limb there. The odds are probably against her going first.

It can happen but it'll never become a common occurrence. I'm 36 and I can count on one hand the number of times a woman has made the first move. And it's never been direct. The follow through, even if she's made the suggestion, has always been on me to make.
