In talking stages, what keeps you interested and wants to stay to get to know her?

The talking stage is critical for me. If she can't hold a conversation about anything other than fashion, food, and travel I'm outta there. If she has no sense of humor or I have to stop and explain jokes or sarcasm to her, I'm outta there. If she's a tRump voter, I'm outta there. If she has no capacity for introspective thought, I'm outta there. She may be harmless and sweet, friend material, but I'm not dating someone who makes me cringe every couple of minutes. It just wouldn't end well.

Her effort. She either wants to know me or she doesn't. I'm fine being single, I'm fine staying single. She makes me feel like she wants to talk, wants to know me then I'll keep conversing with her. Beyond that it's hard to say. What is attraction? If it was that easily defineable, i would know right away what attracts me to a woman. I do know what it ISN'T though. Attraction is a MUTUAL thing. I can't force her attraction and she cannot force mine. And if she tries to she's going to end up doing the opposite of what she's trying to accomplish. Nothing turns me off faster than a woman using feminine wiles to try and manipulate me. There is no simple and easy way to my heart. She either thinks I'm worth that effort or she doesn't. Because I'll tell you this much. If she's unwilling to risk anything (pride) to get me, then she doesn't deserve me.

If she seems calm and smart, shares her life. Also when she doesn't need me 24/7 and is ok with me responding when I can. I have a busy life. And when she keeps reaching out every two days or so. Also, it helps when she's generally relaxed. No early drama to change the date last minute because she's freaking out in her mind.

Authenticity. When I was single and in the talking stages of dating, that quality was something I always tried to look for. When someone was genuinely passionate about something in their life, be it their career, an interest or hobby, etc., it really came across and gave me more insight as to who they were as a person.

when you have the same things in common that you can just talk for hours about it, and if thats not the case, then there's a difference of opinion and you still want to express your opinion and listing to hers to see you can find a common ground with that person.
