Let’s say you come from a family that has had a divorce and you date someone from a successful and perfect family with absolutely everything looking rosy does that cause jealousy?

It all depends on how you personally perceived that family you were brought up and how you overcame that divorce. A divorce does not automatically have to impact you negatively but it could also be something positive. If you have one of the parent that is being misused in a way or another by the spouse, then the divorce could be a blessing.

I don't think that this would affect me negatively to see a family that is harmonious. Perfection does not exist and under that rosy coating of color, you can find rust that is eventually going to flake that perfect shiny pink color.

It may look rosy on the surface but what about that same perfection in 10 or 20 years from now?

Why be jealous when you and that person could have the opportunity to create your own ideal family?

If anything, it'd cause envy, not jealousy.
I've never been in a divorced family so, I wouldn't know how I feel. I HAVE been in a family that had almost no love for each other and I envy other people who would do whatever they could to help their siblings and who love them a lot!

It has happened to me. I grew up with no dad since I was around 3. Stuff happens and I wish I had a dad growing up but I made do.
