Should a woman wait for the best option or choose the first man who tries?

Waiting too long = losing the options she once had.

She should figure out what matters MOST to her in a partner and try to find someone that matches that, but don't expect someone to match EVERYTHING she wants or she will get nobody.

Also, the most important thing is she needs to figure out her ACTUAL level/value as a partner. The majority of women FAR overrate their own value and then think they should have someone that is significantly higher level/more valuable as a partner than her and wander why she can never get the man she wants to also want her for long term.

Want someone 6' +? She needs to be slim. Want someone that is strong from working out? She needs to have no tattoos or piercings besides her ears. Want someone that protects her physically? She needs to protect him emotionally. (Most women have no idea how to do that.) Want him to be faithful? She needs to be faithful too. (Posting provocative/revealing pictures online or hanging out 1 on 1 with another man IS CHEATING by the way.) Want him to frequently spend time with her? Don't expect him to have a very time consuming job. Want him to provide? What, is she a child? BOTH people should contribute, otherwise she is just a pr0$t1tute.

My goodness... If you're waiting for "the best option" you'll wait forever. If you just settle for whoever comes first you'll also still be miserable with FOMO. How's about assess each guy till one feels "right" for you. Old fashioned, I know, but it's kept the species alive.

It's basic game theory. Everyone should and for the most part does try to optimize outcomes in the way that benefits them most. There is nothing wrong with that. The problem is that some people just don't know how to play the game very well.

• Do you pass up an opportunity because you believe a better one is right around the corner?
• Or do you grab the best available choice in the moment and never look back?

There are always opportunity costs associated with both decisions. And some people suck at recognizing opportunities realistically. They chase outcomes that are effectively not available to them and thereby discard the choices that are available. Or as the saying goes... the heart wants what the heart wants. But sometimes the heart steers you wrong in the grand scheme of things.
