I'm having a hard time of seeing the point of this. I can drive myself.

But I'll play along and say I couldn't. I'd hope he'd offer to come pick me up, that would at least be a nice polite thing to offer. If I was concerned about him knowing where I lived... he would know from paying for the uber he was sending me... so that'd be a pointless alternative.

Nope. If he has a car then offering a ride back can be nice but I would never expect him to offer paying me a taxi. I have no problem using public transport, doing it every day.
