How do you navigate dating in a hook up culture world?

So I have avoided the dating scene for a while, but everytime I dabble back in it feels like I just get asked to only come fuck.

Which is not really my cup of tea. Nothing against it, but not really my main goal.

I feel like I would not mind if that was my intent, but everytime I think someone wants to get to know me.

It ends up with them just bluntly saying "So are you going to come fuck me or not".

Which always catches me off gaurd or maybe I am super oblivious to tones and hints.

Does anyone else feel like it is hard to even navigate a long term convo?

I honestly don't. I've never had sex and don't intend to anytime soon. I am focused on my summer job and then studies rhe rest of the year.

For those that are then that is their business. I expect it is rocky and unforgiving.

Exactly, a relationship is not a good move in my opinion untill you can care for yourself.

Yes partners are their to support but not to shoulder your burdens.

I'm the female version of someone experiencing the same thing. The men who approached me always wanted sex, as if my identity wasn't important and only what was between my legs mattered. Even when I told them I wanted to be a mother, they tried to exploit that. I haven't been in a relationship for a year and I feel incredibly lonely

Got married years ago.

I am glad I got out before total degeneracy took over. I have zero interest in promiscuous people. Once they start sleeping around they were dead ro me for life. I guess I just wouldn't even try dating. I would rather have a people life in solitude and friends then be with a tramp.

Society accepts casual sex more and people lead busier lives trying to get by. Sex is convenient.

I'm not like that so I don't entirely know but time seems like a factor in everything from how it used to be.
