She’s avoiding me after I asked her to eat lunch together—should I move on?

Fell in love with a girl at work that I ran into, we work in different departments so we don’t see each other often. We would only see each other in the cafeteria and sit by each other exchange small talk and laughs.

One day while talking she got up saying her break us over she needs to go and before she left I asked “since we come to lunch at the same time would you wanna sit and eat together?” She (how I interpreted it) gave a nervous smile and said “I’m good” and then rushed out, definitely hurt and felt that stab in my heart, but then I went on vacation and was out rest of the week.

When I came back she would show up for lunch and see me in the cafeteria area and then leave without even eating, come pretended to look for something and felt like she was scouting if I was there and then would leave. She avoided me and the cafeteria for roughly 2-3 months over the simple ask. Did I mess up by asking? Should I have complimented her? Is it me? Is it her? Do I just give up? but it was a simple ask and seems like she made it awkward.

Yes you should move on. If what your description says is true then she has no interest and time to move on and let her be.

By her response alone that she was good tells me that she didn't have a similar interest in you that you did in her. Then her behavior is reinforcing that.

What’s annoying is what she started doing after the 2-3 month avoiding period is what is bothering me. Was limited by the character count.

The only context I’m leaving out is the after math of her avoiding for that 2-3 month period. Was saving that for a part 2 cause of character limit.

Yeah move on, she’s not interested. You didn’t do anything wrong though and she’s just acting weird and rude at this point. Like why would she need to do all that. The no was enough.
