She was this really cool girl who I worked with at a pizzeria. My senior year they asked me if I wanted to take an honors class and I'd say 30% of the reason I said yes was because I was hoping I'd see her. Which I did.

And I caught her looking at me sometimes. But she sat too far away and at work I didn't know how to approach her because I was worried if she rejected me and started acting different my boss might be able to tell.

I was 17 so I'm less embarrassed about it now but I remember thinking every so often maybe I should try to take a seat closer to her before the others get in.

And one day this girl takes the seat next to mine and gave the kid who used to sit there the evil eye.

I was like "yea, I'm a pussy" 😂

Anyway, that girl asked me out to a movie the last week of class and I figured I better talk to the other one first.

She seemed disappointed I didn't ask earlier but I could tell there was nothing I was gonna do to convince her. She was about to go work the kind of job you go away for long periods of time. I gave it an honest try, she made some anology about doors. She was so emotionally intelligent. I admired it a lot.

Anyway, I went to that movie with the other girl and we had a pretty good thing going for a while.

Maybe I fucked up, maybe things worked out how they were supposed to.

I can say I never made the same mistake again.

No, I actually was never attracted to anyone in particular, be it boy or girl. I always tried to keep my distance, which I still do, because I am aware that it is futile to try to crush on someone, knowing that crushes are usually a one-sided affair and very seldom reciprocate.

Still nowadays, I am not being attracted physically to anyone, simply because I have other priorities in life than to waste my time with something that is going to divert my attention from my goals in life. Those goals for the next few years are to get my degree and I don't want to have to split my attention between my goals and something of lesser importance.

There was a guy who was VERY into me all through college but never made a move bc he thought I was too young. And by the time he realized I was ok for him to be with I was already married and having my family. Oh well. Now he is a bit angry, however we both always knew that he would never marry (which was what i wanted) and we both knew that he was a player meanwhile I was raised to be very conservative, which I still am in many ways.

More recently, there was another guy who I have INSANE chemistry with. However he's rude and I back away, then he chases and is sweet for a short time, so I wait to see what comes next... but it's just the cycle of attention-then-rudeness that will never end. I don't have time for that.

No, I always acted on it until I met a new more recent man I'm interested in. He is a teacher and I am a mature, aged student and he flirted with me in person and matched with me on a dating app and asked me out. I said I would love to go out with you, but not until I graduate and am no longer a TAFE student. I'm not just attracted; I am genuinely interested. But I was careful not to let that show, except to him. That was only after he indicated interest. I just hope he can wait until I graduate and doesn't get bored waiting. If he does, I'll just have to accept it.
