Why won't my boyfriend hold my purse when we go to the mall?

so my boyfriend absolutely refuses to hold my purse for me when we are in public, even for a few minutes as I use the restroom. Which is very inconvenient and I don't understand why it can't just sling it on his shoulder for a bit. What do you think? Why do you think he won't hold it for me as his girlfriend?

I just don’t understand the big necessity. There’s hooks in the bathroom 9/10. Also if your purse is too encumbering then either size down or don’t carry one. This is just such a non issue and a silly battle in my opinion.

P. S. i don't see anything wrong with holding a woman's purse, and laugh at his response to your request. But i do respect his unwillingness to hold your purse if he doesn't want to. Even fo 5 minutes.

he is probably worried people will see him and think he is gay, or think the purse belongs to him and that he is feminine and judge him or laugh at him for it. honestly if I saw a man standing alone with a purse, I'd assume he must be gay. if outside a restroom though, I'd assume he is just a gentleman waiting for his lady. you should ask him why he won't hold it, get his perspective. I'd bet he is worried about people thinking he is gay/feminine
